The Color Purple

Today there was an important soccer (or should I say football?) game that took place in the city. Fiorentina vs. Parma to decide who would go to the finals and it was also Fiorentina's final home game. By the time we found out about it tickets were already sold out, but we showed our pride by buying team spirit shirts and accessories as it seemed that all others in the street were decked out in purple--the home team's color. One person had even spray-painted their bike in the color (unfortunately it's hard to see in the photo just how freshly painted the bike was--there was even spray paint on the sidewalk). As we walked down from S. Miniato later towards the evening many cars were honking as they drove up the road. At first we weren't sure what was going on, but then this car drove by and we realized that Fiorentina had won the game!
