Gelatto and the Porcellino

This evening we left the apartment to find gelatto and walked to the Piazza della Repubblicca to sit down on one of the benches to enjoy it. I snapped some night shots.


After we finished the gelatto we decided to walk around a little more and found the Porcellino, a pig that is the equivalent of the Trevi fountain in Rome. Its said that if you rub its nose and put a coin in its mouth, and the coin falls into the grate below you will return to Florence (you can see where his nose is worn down from all the rubbing). It took 3 tries (I used too big of a coin) but it got in the grate. : )
